Porta Hungariae is proud to introduce the handmade knives of Grandmaster Knife Maker Istvan Sz.; among the finest of Hungarian Custom Knife Makers.

For over 30 years Master Istvan has been producing handmade knives. Although his speciality are the fix-blade hunting and working knives he also produces a wide variety of folders according to the needs of the woodsmen, shepherds and forest rangers of Hungary and Central Europe, whose very lives often depend on his creations.

Istvanīs main objective is and has ever been to produce knifes for the people who are working with them. Although nowadays the biggest part of his production goes to collectors. He will never forget his main target group. His focus on quality and strength is that high, that he offers a life-long guaranty for all his products. A fact that is highly valued by the shepherds, horsemen and woodsmen of the wild Carpathian Basin, who often pay several month's wages to own one.
